Analysis of ‘I am David’ movie

Once upon a time, there is a story about a boy whose parents was separated by Communist.
Actually, he is from a middle-upper class family, but because there is any Communism movement, he has to separate with his parents. Then, after he lost her parents, he has to come in Communist reception centre.
There, he has to survive. And he has a friend named Johannes. He always say that David have to save his life and go out from the reception centre. He also says that David doesn’t have to trust anyone. Johannes is very kind, and he also David’s room-mate.
Someday in Communist reception centre, David steals soap from the commandant’s desk. After that, the army search for the thief. Johannes sees that David hold the soap, and he knows what the risk. He takes the soap from David’s hand immediately in order to save David’s life, because the army will shoot the thief when they find them. So, Johannes pretend that he’s steal the soap. After that… Boom!! Johannes has been shooting, and he’s dead. David was so shock by that accident. He always feels guilty. He’s aware that Johannes did it to save his life. And then, he takes the soap and always keeps it on his pocket.
He pushes his self to meet the commandant and say what’s in his mind. The commandant has been touched and he helps David to go out from there. He gave the David’s identity card. Then he said that David has to go to Denmark. But he doesn’t say the reason why he should go there..

David already leaves the Communist reception centre. He is glad that this time he is free, but he doesn’t know direction.
Almost while his life; he spent it in the Communist reception centre, so he never sees the outside world. And now when he come out, he is confuses and he has no clue.
He doesn’t know how to smile, he can’t trust any body, and he lost in translation.
He moves from one place to another that he never knew it before. He can’t speak another language except English. But, he always gets the fortune. It’s always being there some one who helps him indirectly. Then one time, he aware that life is not only fulfill with misery when someday he looks a warehouse burned, and he heard a girls shouted need a help. He entry the warehouse, and he helps a girl who bounded on the chair.
Suddenly, when he awake on the nice bed in a beautiful room he doesn’t know what exactly happened. And, there he is.. In the big ‘palace’ between a very nice family.. That is the family of the girl who he helped. They give him love, that he never had before.. Accidentally, he knows how to smile. Otherwise, he thought that he never smiled before. But, because of the something, he decides to go out from that house. He wants to continue the trip to Denmark.
Suddenly, he is stranded on the country, and he met an old lady who painting a river. Then he greets that lady, after that the old lady asks him to be a model for her paint. She sees something different on David’s eyes.
After finished the paint, they both go to the old lady’s house, in Suisse. After a few days he spent with the old lady, he gets the fact. He’s sure that his mom stays alive. And she’s a writer. So, that old lady takes him to the immigration office to check his id. And after that, he just knows the reason why should he go to Denmark because his mother is living there and she is a famous book writer in Denmark.
And the old lady is his grandma.
So, they both go to Denmark, and he meet his mom after many years separated by Communist.. Then, he can smile to look at the whole world, with suffering that will be a history in his life..

So, from this story we can take the conclusion that life sometimes is not fair. But god has a plan for our life. We don’t know what could happen tomorrow, we just have to be survived. And on this story we can also see the mistake which appear by the language. If we stranded on the place that we don’t have a clue to do something, just try to make a conversation with another, even though with body language.
